Marketing Manager (Shipmate)
We are looking for a keen and experienced B2B SaaS Marketing Manager to join our team as we embark on a high growth strategy in the lead-up to and following the launch of new product features. Taking full ownership of campaigns from plan through to performance reporting, you will be responsible for generating qualified sales opportunities across all of our customer segments.
You will be instrumental in sharpening how Shipmate is positioned within our target markets, running the campaigns that turn that positioning into pipeline, and showing clearly what our marketing budget delivers.
About the company
Shipmate is a shipping automation Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform for mid-size merchants and local delivery companies. We connect merchant order processing systems with domestic and international delivery services provided by all mainstream UK and Ireland carriers.
Shipmate is used to fulfil orders by printing shipping labels and sharing tracking details with merchants and their customers. Shipmate helps speed up and simplify order fulfilment, while reducing potential for human error and ensuring the most cost-effective delivery services are always used.
Shipmate is operated by our parent company, Codemakers, which also provides contract consultancy and development services. We are a team of strategic thinkers, inquisitive in nature with an optimistic and determined outlook who solve real-world business challenges with solid, highly functional digital solutions that delight users. Our products and services are trusted by famous brands and used by thousands of people every day.
About the role
You will be responsible for:
- Planning and running campaigns end to end, taking full ownership of results against agreed KPIs.
- Developing consistent, insight-led positioning and messaging to our ideal customer profiles that reinforces our value as the go-to multi-carrier shipping platform.
- Creating compelling marketing materials, including ads, landing pages, emails and sales collateral, that clearly communicate our value proposition and drive lead generation.
- Managing paid advertising, including PPC and paid social, to convert in-market intent into qualified pipeline.
- Running targeted email and outbound programmes, nurturing prospects over time so that Shipmate is the obvious choice when the buying decision arrives.
- Writing and commissioning content that translates technical product capabilities into compelling, benefit-led messaging.
- Briefing and coordinating colleagues and suppliers on the creative, web and collateral needed to support each campaign.
- Optimising campaigns for conversion, using performance data to decide what to scale, change or stop.
- Reporting on marketing performance and its contribution to pipeline and revenue to the senior management team.
- Supporting our partner programme, working with agencies and technology partners to generate referred opportunities.
- Contributing to our demand generation strategy, bringing new ideas and refining ongoing activity based on results.
For us, good marketing shows up in the sales pipeline, not just in the analytics. You’ll be joining at a point where that matters more than ever, as the business moves into its next phase of growth. Working alongside our Customer Success team, you’ll see the direct impact of your campaigns, and as the marketing function grows, so will your role within it.
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience in B2B SaaS marketing, with a strong focus on lead generation and pipeline growth
- A track record of planning and running paid, email and outbound campaigns with measurable results
- A commercial mindset, with a clear understanding of how marketing activity translates to revenue and contributes to sales targets
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a talent for clear, persuasive messaging
- Confidence working with marketing metrics and using data to make informed optimisation decisions
Your application will be considered favourably if you have:
- Previous experience within ecommerce, logistics or similar sectors
- Previous experience marketing to merchants, retailers and similar businesses
- Experience running partner or channel marketing programmes
- Hands-on experience with LinkedIn Ads, Google Ads and CRM systems
- A working knowledge of SEO and how buyers now research through AI search tools
We’re looking for someone who understands what makes a campaign work, can bring it to life with the help of others, and can show whether it delivered. Commercial instinct, analytical rigour and clear communication matter far more here than design or web skills. You won’t need to build every asset yourself, but you will need to know exactly what to ask for and how to brief it well.
Shipmate solves a technical problem for merchants, so the best messaging comes from understanding how we fit into their order fulfilment process. You’ll get to know the platform well enough to explain what it does in terms that matter to our audiences.
Familiarity with ecommerce and logistics, from sales channels and marketplaces to warehouse management systems and carrier services, will give you a head start.
