Codemakers expands team with two new team members specialising in DevOps and UX Design...

Codemakers has welcomed two new team members during lockdown with the appointment of a DevOps Specialist and User Experience Designer, and due to increased demand for our SaaS platforms and Web Development services, we are actively recruiting to fill two further roles; a PHP/Laravel Developer and a new Front End Developer.

Oli and Nick joined us in early Autumn this year and have already had a huge impact both on our security and infrastructure and our front-end design and UX output.

Oli, our new DevOps Engineer has a strong background in Web Infrastructure and Security. His passion for Linux and Server Architecture provides a solid backbone for our Web and Mobile Applications and translates into solid uptime and reliability for our SaaS platforms, notably improving monitoring and performance of our parcel management platform, Shipmate.

Nick joined with over 6 years in the design industry and brings a wealth of knowledge regarding User Experience and User Interface Design. With the end user at the core of all his design decisions, Nick makes sure that our products are not only functional but are also intuitive and a joy to use. He enjoys problem solving and loves getting stuck into a new project where he can really showcase a high standard of UI Design and Prototyping skills.

Speaking of the changes to our recruitment process, our Creative Director Chris Ison explains:

“Recruiting remotely has come with its own challenges, but Oli and Nick are both very impressive and bring a wealth of expertise and experience to the Codemakers team. Although we’ve had limited opportunities to meet as a team in recent times, they have both integrated really well and are now considered vital to our underlying infrastructure and the useability of our software respectively.”

Managing Director Antony Stevenson added:

“This has been a challenging year for everyone on many levels, however our commitment to providing valuable digital and online services across a broad range of sectors has thankfully minimised our exposure to the economic downturn. We have seen a significant uplift in the eCommerce aspects of our business, while many clients have revised their processes to adapt to remote working or in response to shifts in demand, keeping our order book full throughout lockdown. We recognise and are grateful for our advantageous position providing digital services and are tremendously proud of being able to expand our team, bucking the national trend”.
